Welcome to The Post-Match Report! I'm Catalina (or Cat, Cata, etc.), and if you don't know me, I've been "working" in soccer analytics for around two and a half years now. So far, that work has involved unpaid internships, freelance writing, and a lot of internet posting.

My start in the online soccer space came from posting data-based post-match reports after every Major League Soccer (MLS) game — hence the name of the newsletter. Though these reports began on Twitter, they've now existed on BlueSky for a much longer stretch of time, and I'd like to think they've helped contribute to what is now a thriving soccer analytics community on the platform.

There's a lot to keep up with these days, though, which is exactly why this newsletter exists. For each installment, I'll be collecting interesting posts, threads, articles, research papers, and general soccer updates from around the internet and delivering them right to your inbox. I'll be also be throwing in some analysis on what everything means, why it all matters, and what to keep an eye on moving forward. My hope is that this newsletter will help highlight all the fascinating work that is occurring in soccer, from new forms of tracking-enhanced EPV to industry updates and unexpected upsets.
